PSYCHOLINGUISTIC MECHANISMS OF THE CHOICE OF LOANWORDS IN ARABIC INTERNET DISCOURSE
Nodira I. Umarova , Nargizabonu O. Nematova ,Abstract
This article examines the psycholinguistic mechanisms underlying the choice of English loanwords in Arabic internet discourse on the Instagram platform. The study focuses on cognitive and communicative factors influencing the preference for Anglicisms among Arabic-speaking users in online communication. Special attention is given to the theory of speech activity, the concept of the bilingual mental lexicon, and the mechanism of probabilistic prediction in speech perception. The analysis of examples from Arabic Instagram discourse demonstrates that English borrowings function not only as lexical units but also as markers of digital culture and modern identity.
