This article analyzes the characteristics of enantiosemic units (aḍdād), considered one of the unique linguistic phenomena of Arabic linguistics. It also examines the approaches of linguists to this phenomenon and the semantics of enantiosemic lexemes presented in al-Jawharī's dictionary “aṣ-Ṣiḥāḥ”. Furthermore, the article explores important information regarding al-Jawharī's role in the history of Arabic lexicography, the structural principles of the “aṣ-Ṣiḥāḥ” dictionary, and the scientific and literary environment of the period.
