Abstract

This article analyzes the issue of marfuʿat (units in the nominative case), which occupies an important place in the syntactic system of the Arabic language. The study examines the main syntactic units that occur in the nominative case in Arabic, in particular, the subject (faʿil), the agent substitute (na’ib al-fa’il), the subject (mubtada’), the predicate (khabar), kana and its analogues, kada and its analogues, particles functioning as laysa, as well as grammatical units such as la nafiya li-l-jins. The theoretical foundation of the research is based on classical sources of Arabic linguistics as well as modern grammatical studies. In addition, the article examines the role of nominative units in sentence structure, their semantic and syntactic features, and their place in the grammatical system of the Arabic language using an analytical approach. The study reveals the grammatical essence of the marfu’ category in Arabic, as well as its functional significance in sentence structure and meaning expression. As a result, it is scientifically substantiated that nominative units are one of the main grammatical components forming the syntactic system of the Arabic language.
