LINGUISTIC MECHANISMS OF TERM FORMATION IN THE ARABIC LANGUAGE

Shuhrat Mirziyatov ,

Abstract

This study analyzes the formation, development, and current state of Arabic terminology. It examines the mechanisms of term formation, semantic adaptation, borrowing processes, and issues of standardization based on relevant scholarly literature. Qualitative, descriptive, and comparative research methods were employed. The findings reveal that Arabic terminology develops through both internal linguistic resources, such as the root system, derivation, and semantic extension, and external influences, particularly borrowings from English and French. At the same time, certain inconsistencies were identified in the processes of terminology unification and standardization. Overall, Arabic terminology represents a dynamic and evolving system whose stability depends largely on scientifically grounded standardization practices.
