THE INTERPRETATION OF SIMILES IN TRANSLATION STUDIES AND METHODS OF TRANSLATION

Abstract

This article examines how similes in literary text are interpreted by artificial intelligence versus human translators, using Abdulla Qodiriy’s novel “O‘tkan kunlar” (“Bygone Days”) as material. The article addresses the linguistic nature of the simile, its structural components (subject, object of comparison, basis, and marker), and its stylistic functions.
