PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS IN THE FIELD OF SPECIAL EDUCATION FOR BLIND CHILDREN IN UZBEKISTAN IN 1925-1990

This article analyzes the formation, development, and challenges faced by the special education system for visually impaired children in Uzbekistan between 1925 and 1990. Although special schools were established for blind children during the Soviet Union period, there were significant shortages in pedagogical methodology, educational materials, and technical support. During and after World War II, these issues worsened, leading to the closure of schools and a lack of resources. From the 1960s onwards, the field of tiflopedagogy developed, and special methodologies and textbooks based on Braille were introduced. However, due to the underdevelopment of inclusive education principles, visually impaired children faced difficulties in integrating into society. The article presents proposals to address these challenges.
