THE MEDIEVAL CITY AS A CONNECTING SPACE (ON THE EXAMPLE OF USTRUSHONA)
Maftuna Lapasova ,Abstract
The authors of the article highlight the reasonable opinions of scholars who analyzed the fact that Ustrushon was a city located at a central crossroads, where medieval cities served not only as economic and cultural centers, but also as a connecting place between different regions, peoples, and civilizations. They also highlight the fact that Ustrushon, one of the most important strategic and economic centers of Central Asia during this period, was a meeting point for the population engaged in cattle breeding and agriculture. The economic and strategic importance of the city is also reflected in the fortresses, caravanserais, and craft centers in Ustrushon.
