Bekzod Muhammadiyev ,Abstract
This article analyzes the causes, forms, and consequences of the dissemination of false information on virtual communication platforms in the information society. The study found that factors such as artificial intelligence-based content generation, social media algorithms, influencer activity, and audience information culture create the basis for the dissemination of false information. The article also provides a scientific analysis of the consequences of the dissemination of false information, including a decline in social trust, a tendency to manipulate socio-political views, and a weakening of the boundaries between truth and opinion in the minds of young people.
