This article provides information on the educational system and transformation processes in Turkestan during the Russian Empire, as well as the negative and positive aspects of women's participation in these processes, based on the analysis of archival sources and contemporary press publications. This study discusses the role played by the Tatar and national enlighteners in the spread and development of Jadid ideas in the country, and the fact that women's education is one of the pressing issues in these processes. For this purpose, it contains interesting information about how the personnel policy carried out by the republic was carried out, and the fact that innovations in the field of education were banned by the Turkestan Guards Department because they contradicted the interests of the Russian Empire, but as the enlightenment movement developed further, Tatar teachers formed Jadid girls' schools in the country, and girls of local nationality were also educated.
