This article analyzes the theoretical foundations and conceptual features of the philosophy of Mortimer Adler, a prominent representative of twentieth-century American philosophy. The study focuses on Adler’s interpretation of education as the central element of philosophical inquiry, his commitment to perennialist educational theory, and his emphasis on classical traditions and universal truths. The article explores the influence of Aristotelian and Thomistic philosophy on Adler’s thought, as well as his critical engagement with pragmatism and progressive education. Special attention is given to Adler’s Paideia Proposal, the Great Books program, and his understanding of philosophy as an intellectual foundation of a democratic society.
