TOURISM STRATEGY IN UZBEKISTAN (1990–2000)

Abstract

This scientific article provides an in-depth analysis of the role of the tourism sector in the national economy, its contribution to generating foreign currency revenues, and development trends based on international experience. In particular, the dynamics of the sharp growth in tourism revenues are illustrated through the examples of Austria and Hungary. The article also scientifically substantiates the development prospects of the Republic of Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, based on its geographical location, historical and cultural heritage, natural and climatic conditions, and infrastructure capabilities. Furthermore, it analyzes the strategic directions, priority tasks, and phased reforms developed for tourism development in the 1990s, highlighting tourism’s contribution to economic growth, employment, and international integration.
