Ethnology, like all social sciences, makes extensive use of a number of specific terms and concepts. It is very difficult to define and analyze all these terms and concepts in one article. In this article, we will consider below only those that are most commonly used in scientific practice.

This article provides a review of a number of works directly devoted to the history of the Kokhan Khanate. Since the history of the Khanate was studied in different periods, we can see that there are some differences in it. First of all, we see that the approach to the sources was based on the ideology of the time. A number of mistakes and shortcomings have been mentioned in some of the following works related to the achievements of the history of the Khanate.

This article analyzes the current state of the ethnology of Uzbekistan during the years of independence, its achievements and shortcomings. In particular, the existing theoretical and methodological shortcomings of science and the need for modern alternative theories, the role of the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology of the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the field of research, the issue of international cooperation in research on the ethnology of the Uzbek people in the years of independence, modern areas of science and textbooks in it the problem is highlighted, proposals and recommendations are developed for their scientific and practical solution.

In the 20-30s of the XX century, the study of economic issues of Uzbekistan and the peoples of Central Asia in general became of scientific and practical importance and began to serve the introduction of reforms in the agrarian and economic activities of the Soviet government. The research has been widely used to involve ethnographers as well as experts in various fields, to change the relationship of social property in public life and to promote the policy of collectivization in agriculture. The researchers stressed the need to study the long-established traditions of the Uzbek people in the field of hashar, collective farming, which covered all the most populous regions of Uzbekistan. It should be noted that the traditional forms of economy (especially "paykal"), which are based on private property relations, were in fact interpreted in accordance with the formation of common (public, state) property. In this paper, research that reflects the traditions of collective farming on the ground is structured and compared.

The article analyzes the articles, dissertations, monographs and pamphlets published in 1991-1998 on the ethnogenesis and ethnic history of the Uzbek people.

This article is devoted to the history of the organization of the management of the national economy of Uzbekistan in 1950-1960.

This article discusses the ancient history of the construction of residential and outbuildings, which are an integral part of the material culture of the Surkhandarya oasis, and its influence on the construction of outbuildings. According to him, in the mountainous and foothill regions of the Surkhandarya oasis, building materials such as wood and stone predominate in the construction of houses, and in such areas mainly wall and stone houses and outbuildings were built. On relatively flat areas, houses were mainly built of adobe roofs, mud bricks, guval and shapati.

Аn attempt is made to find a scientific answer to the solution of the problems, which is shown through the theme "Historiography of the history of the Kyrgyz people in the late 20th and early 21st centuries". The dissertation involved a lot of literature on the history of the Kyrgyz people, published at the end of the 20th century at the beginning of the 21st century. They are classified according to their content and systematically analyzed. It is obvious that the chosen period was a period in the history of Kyrgyzstan, rich in sharp contradictions. It was in the history of Kyrgyzstan that such events took place as the weakening of the Soviet state at the end of the 20th century, the introduction of independence into the lake, internal conflicts in the country during the years of independence, and the aggravation of political processes. How were these events covered in the scientific literature, how did foreign researchers react? How did the Kyrgyz people write their history during the years of independence? It is planned to answer all the above questions with the help of this dissertation.

The article deals with the issues of cooperation between the states of Central Asia with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The specifics of these organizations, their importance in ensuring regional security, and priorities for Uzbekistan in the framework of cooperation are outlined.

The author in referenced article had attempted to analyze the ways of formation the history of everyday life in world historiography to include fact that in France in the middle of XX century by efforts of representatives of the school of annals this area of history gained status of independent direction.  In addition to this in article are considered the issues related to the development of this area of history in Germany and some other countries. Besides was conducted analysis of researches related to the history of everyday life in Russia at the End of XX – Beginning of XXI centuries, also works carried out in recent years in Uzbekistan.

In this research work Ethnographic information, in particular, economic life of Uzbek, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Turkmen, Karakalpak ethnic groups, clans and related populations, found in the Bukhara Koshbegi archive, the Khiva khans archive, and the cabinet documents stored in the National Archives Funds of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

In this article, in the second half of the 19th century, the Kyrgyz, Kyrgyz clans and tribes who lived in the Terak Pass connecting the Kokan Khanate with Kashgar, the areas where they are located, and the history of their traditional economy are covered. The Khiva Khanate dates back to the time of the bellows tax system and the number notebooks kept in connection with it become important in the study of the economic and social life of Khanate in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The number books are significant in that the people of the mosque have recorded the list of taxpayers and the tax amounts in the course of the years and cover the entire territory of the Khanate. It is also characteristic that these tax documents contain a lot of information on the ethnography of Khanate. Karakalpaks and Turkmen who lead a nomadic lifestyle, which are considered citizens of the Khiva Khanate, are included in the tax notebooks of the lifestyle and the specific tax system, Place Names, terms that apply to them. The study of the Ethnological aspects of these notebooks is concerned with the coverage of the history that is relevant today based on unifying sources.

This article reveals the issue of Turkic ethnic groups in Afghanistan, including the Uzbeks, their political position in Northern Afghanistan, elements of historical statehood, and the distribution of Uzbek clans. Despite the fact that several works have been done about the ethnic Uzbeks in Afghanistan and the Turks in general, this issue remains fragmented from a scientific point of view. This article will be a positive step for a deeper study of the history of nations in the conditions of the new era.

The article analyzes the archaeological researches and scientific works of the Fergana Valley, a well-known Russian archaeologist and Ferganist scientist Yuri Alexandrovich Zadneprovsky, who studied the socio-political, economic and cultural life of the Fergana Valley from the point of view of historiography. That is, Zadneprovsky's contribution to the solution of the archaeological problems of the Fergana Valley is scientifically analyzed. Also, the article emphasizes the role of Zadneprovsky in the historiography of archaeological research of the Fergana Valley and the fact that his work is the main tool in further research. Memoirs of historians such as Ivanov, Masson, and Myakinnikov were used in the article.

In this article, the processes of national identity, mentality and self-awareness of the Karakalpak people are analyzed anthropologically, and the factors influencing its development are discussed.

The article discusses and analyzes theoretical approaches to the emergence of people in the world. Theoretical and methodological approaches to the problem of ethnos and ethnicity, ethnogenesis and ethnic history based on the approaches of primordialism, constructivism and instrumentalism are considered. The main purpose of the analysis of these approaches is to identify the current fate of the Uzbek people and the views associated with its formation, and which path is optimal for its further development. The essence of the theory of “ethnos” is explained and its consequences are considered. A critical opinion is given about the leading position of Soviet protectionism (the state of protecting one’s views) in ethnological studies of Uzbekistan.
